Dr. Shavon Mariah Brooks, LCSW, HS-BCP, CAMS II started Shavon Mariah Social Services and Shavon Mariah Social Services luggage Foundation - 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization in 2020. She is a Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health Social Worker/Psychotherapist, Board Certified Human Service Practitioner, National Certified Anger Management Specialist II, Author and State of Texas Relator. She has completed her PHD in Medical Social Work and defended her dissertation on, "The Adolescent's Perspective on Social Media Contributing to Suicidal Ideations and Attempts".
Her experience started in the social work field over a decade ago, working and volunteering at various children shelters during undergrad and past employment with Child Protective Services. She is currently working as a Clinical Behavioral Health Social Worker/Therapist in the Central Texas area. She completed her Masters in Advance Clinical Social Work and her internship as a Clinical Social Worker at an acute Psychiatric Behavioral Health hospital in Austin, Texas. She has worked with children and adults conducting educational and processing groups, intake assessments, individual and family sessions, follow-up assessments, discharges and establishing community resources for clients within the Psychiatric Behavioral Health Hospital and in the field as an Behavioral Health Social Worker.
